Safeguarding Policy - East Lothian Barbell

East Lothian Barbell is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All coaches are qualified through British Powerlifting and are members of the GBPF, EPF, and IPF. We follow the British Powerlifting Safeguarding Policy, which outlines standards for safeguarding and welfare.

Policy Aims

  • To ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in our activities.
  • To support coaches and volunteers in responding confidently and appropriately to any safeguarding concerns.

Media Consent

When children, young people or vulnerable adults are present, written consent will be required before any photography or filming. Consent may be obtained in advance or on the day of the session or event.

Reporting Concerns

If you have any safeguarding concerns or suspect abuse, please report this directly to the East Lothian Barbell Safeguarding Lead - Jake Beveridge. Appropriate steps will be taken to ensure the safety of the individual(s) involved.
